Wishlist | Summer Makeup

Hello Lovelies!

With a week to go until I finish my first year of uni, I’m already daydreaming of summer. 3 and a half months of freedom… well, not having to do uni work anyway, my summers are never really that relaxing to be honest!

Lately, I’ve been dreaming of the makeup I’m going to buy myself as a little ‘well done me’ treat, and the list has been getting more and more extensive as a way of procrastinating! I thought I’d share my top 5 products that I am lusting after (and will hopefully own in a few weeks). All of the prices are from the brand’s websites as they’re more definitive than the varying department store prices, although as my town doesn’t have specific makeup shops unlike London, I’ll probably be sourcing these either online or at Debenhams/Boots.

1. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick

I adore absolutely everything about these lipsticks; the packaging, the look, the colours, how soft they look, the different shades… if it wasn’t for the price I would have snapped up several of these beauties by now already! For summer I’m going for nude/beige pinks but will also be slightly more daring and try corals and reds as I know most of my summer wardrobe is very pastel/white right now so having a bold lip would set an outfit off amazingly. I want several shades of these YSL lipsticks, the one pictured is called Pink in Confidence but I am also loving Nude in Private which is more neutral and also Coral Incandescent for that splash of bright pink colour.

Price: £26

2. YSL Candy Volupte Lipstick

I know my first product was a YSL lipstick, but the Candy Volupte line is less shiny lipgloss-y and more like a subtle, juicy lipbalm. The shade I’ve pictured here is Juicy Grapefruit, as all of the shades on here are deliciously named after exotic fruits- even the names of them sound gorgeous! This is a very sheer pink colour, and I am also craving Mellow Clementine which is a slightly darker rose pink, and Lush Coconut which is a nude shade.

Price: £25

3. Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream

I’ve stopped wearing foundation lately, as I feel that it clogs up the pores on my face and makes me feel like I’m wearing a thick tonne of makeup. Instead I’ve been opting for BB cream, particularly the Maybelline Dream Fresh which has SPF30 and is just so nice for your skin- it has a much lighter feel and has so many other functions rather than just a foundation for makeup. With that running out, I’m searching for another alternative and ran into this while shopping the other day- an all-in-one from the Body Shop. This combines two of my favourite things at the moment as I’m absolutely in love with that shop; can’t get enough of the body butters and hand creams!  I have a body shop in my town and their makeup section is huuuuge so I’m surprised that I haven’t seen this before actually. I’ll be opting for the medium skin tone shade of this product (the one pictured is their lightest for fair skin).

Price: £12 (From the Body Shop)

4. Urban Decay Naked Illuminating Powder

I don’t really use many products on my face, but have been after something that will brighten my look up and just make me look more awake and fresh. I’m torn between the Clinique Liquid Illuminator which is £22 and is a sheer, lightweight liquid, or this Urban Decay Illuminating Powder. I’ve never bought anything from Urban Decay before so I can’t vouch for the quality of their products against the price, but I know that a lot of people love the Naked eyeshadow palettes so that’s a confidence boost for me. I’ll add this onto my face after doing natural makeup to give a bit of highlight and shimmer to my face.

Price: £23

5. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I am a very loyal customer to Benefit in terms of mascara, I think they’re the best in the business with They’re Real being my go-to product despite having all sorts of others in my makeup bag. However that’s almost run out, so I’m on the lookout for another. Although the temptation to stick with Benefit is tempting, I’m trying to branch out with the brands that I use this summer. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the brand Too Faced for lots of their products so I thought I’d try it out and start with the mascara. There are several other products that I’d like to test if the quality of the mascara is good, and I’m nervous but excited to be branching out from my beloved Benefit!

Price: £26

There are loads of other little bits that I want to try out but for now these are the ones that are at the forefront of my mind and that I’ll be buying as soon as I can!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Daisy x

Thank you! I have the Roller Lash but I don’t like it as much as They’re Real, I think it’s slightly hyped up even though the packaging is sooo pretty!x
