I’ve been working so much lately that I haven’t really had time to plan anything interesting for my blog despite having had loads of ideas during my shifts- letting my mind wander as usual!
I bought the Pixi Glow Tonic earlier this year after hearing loads of reviews on blogs about it. It costs £18 from Pixi by Petra – I went directly into their little shop on Carnaby Street but you can order online from PixiBeauty with free delivery on orders over £35.
The idea of the product is that you use it every evening after exfoliating as a part of your skincare regime; soak a cotton pad or ball with the lotion and wipe it over your face and neck but avoid the eyes. It has a really lovely smell and also makes your skin feel so cleansed!
I don’t use the tonic every evening as I work quite late some nights and just about have the energy to wipe off my makeup before falling into bed, but when I do use it for several evenings in a row I notice a substantial difference to the quality of my skin- it removes dead skin cells, which I find I have around my nose and eyebrows quite often, and helps to tone and tighten the skin.
My favourite thing about this product is the pretty packaging for which I’m a sucker, and also the lovely smell as it contains aloe vera and ginseng so it has a slight floral smell without being overpoweringly perfumed.
I haven’t tried any other Pixi products but as I’m going back to university in September I’ll be around Carnaby Street and able to peruse the shop again; my poor bank balance! On the website I’ve seen plenty of makeup products such as primers and lip balms which are all made with natural ingredients so you can already tell they’re going to work wonders on your skin.
Price: 7/10 – I think £18 is quite pricey but the product does last forever so the initial cost is worth splashing out on
Effectiveness: 8/10 – As I haven’t used this product every single day since buying it, I can only vouch for the its effectiveness when I have actually kept up my regime, but even then it’s been amazing so I imagine using the product on a daily basis would be exponentially beneficial for the skin
Packaging: 10/10 – This is my favourite thing about the product! I adore the simple packaging, the gold lettering, the adorable pink colouring of the tonic itself and how it compliments the green label and lid! Everything about the packaging is so cute and if you go down to the shop on Carnaby Street you’ll see that this is a theme with the brand, it’s all so sweet-smelling and pretty!
Overall I would definitely recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic to anyone who wants to add on to their existing skincare regime and tone up their face; it’s a little pricey but you definitely get a lot out of it especially for an exfoliating type of product!
Have a lovely weekend!
