“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak” – Rachel Zoe
Many of the people that I know have returned to their universities already to start a new term; my boyfriend goes tomorrow then I go on Wednesday! I feel like this date has crept up quite suddenly, like it was only a couple of weeks ago that I’d finished my exams and broke up for the summer; when in actual fact it was 4 whole months ago!
I’ve had such a beautiful summer and have learnt a lot about myself and about what I want out of life. It sounds really cringy but I’ve done a lot of growing this summer and have definitely changed. I’m a lot more positive in my outlook on life compared to this time last year. I’m looking forward to moving back up to London and doing a lot more exploring this year, although I’m nervous about the increase in the workload as I’ve heard that second year is a lot more intense!
This month’s Glossybox is the ‘Style Edition’, and I couldn’t help but catch my breath when I saw just how gorgeous the box itself was; The beautiful watercolour artwork reminds me of the new Cinderella film! Then the contents, oh my god!
This month’s Glossybox is filled with 5 full sized products- yet again! Feeling so lucky lately with these products they’re putting in, and I’ve heard that we’re getting a treat with next month’s box as well! The value this month is £62 which is great considering I’m only paying £10 per month for these gorgeous products to be delivered straight to my room.
1. Invisibobble – 3 hair rings
I have really thick hair so whenever I’ve had it up all day for work or studying, I have that extremely annoying kink in my hair! These hair bobbles are revolutionary as they’re sort of silicone spirals that are traceless in your hair and don’t give you split ends or those horrible ‘hair headaches’ that I always seem to get when I’ve had my hair up for too long. I briefly tried one of these by putting my hair in a tight ponytail and shaking my head vigorously for 10 seconds, then compared it to a normal hairband; the grip was slightly worse with the invisibobble but surprisingly good still so I’ll be intrigued to try these out for the day when I’m at work. You can find these bobbles at Feel Unique for £3.75 in various colours- I’ll probably buy the chocolate brown ones if these white ones that came are good enough.
2. BellaPierre Cosmetics – Shimmer Powder in ‘Whesek’
I opened this to see the colour, took off that little safety seal and immediately a cloud of grey shimmery powder fell all over my WHITE throw on my bed; then when I tried to brush it off it all just settled in even more!! So I’m giving a warning with this product; open it over a wipeable surface! The colour itself is actually really pretty though, a light charcoal that’s highly pigmented. The BellaPierre Cosmetics website has dozens of colours to choose from; my favourites include Champagne, Ocean, Refined, Java and Lust. They’re £12.99 each and free shipping is available for orders over £65- the products are quite expensive but the quality of this eyeshadow is really nice.
3. Marsk – Eyeshadow Brush Pro-line
Perfectly complimentary to the shimmer powder is this Marsk eyeshadow brush for application! I can only find the American price on their website although I know that Marsk are based in Sydney and London as well as America, but you can find this brush here for $26.00. I am excited to try the shimmer powder with the brush as the Marsk website says that this brush is perfect for mineral eyeshadow application so it should be a really good compliment for the product.
4. Nailsinc London – ‘Battersea Park’ nail polish
This lovely nail polish is a khaki colour which is perfect for the autumn season, although to me it looks like more of a mix between gunmetal and khaki. The nail polish is very glossy and easy to apply with 2 coats after a base and with a top coat to finish it all off. You can find them on the Nails Inc website, where the nail polish colours are all themed around London, such as Chelsea Embankment and Mayfair Court, and cost about £14.00 each.
5. Marila Nila – Luminous Colour: Masque
And finally this is the product that I’m most excited about! I have been after a good hair masque for quite a while and was about to go shopping for loads of new beauty treats when I moved up to London but it seems like a sign that this was delivered in my last Glossybox at my home address. I cannot describe the smell but it’s like candy, really similar to the Lollipops Delicieuse lipgloss that came in the French themed July Glossybox which I reviewed here. The Maria Nila website says that this masque is actually for blonde hair but I can’t see what harm it’ll do to brunette hair; hopefully it’ll still give me as much shine and lustre as it promises those blondes! You can buy this online for 27EUR from Maria Nila or £15.29 from Salon Services which is inclusive of VAT and delivery which I think is really good. I cannot wait to sit in my robe after a lovely shower with a hair full of this stuff and have a really relaxing, pampering evening.
I am so happy with this box and think that it’s surpassed the July French edition as my favourite so far! I love every single product and will genuinely find good use for them among my daily routine. Now I’m off to fill out my surveys and collect my Glossydots and work towards my free box- only several hundred to go!
Have a gorgeous week lovelies!
