It’s my favourite time of the month as it’s the time that I get to review my Glossybox products! I adore having these sent through to me each month, and I think that at just £10 it’s an absolute bargain not to mention a great way to discover new products and brands!
This month’s box is very exciting as I was given almost a full face’s worth of makeup products, which when paired with items from last month, I can actually create a really nice look. Unfortunately I didn’t have time in my schedule to review my October Glossybox, and there were some really amazing products in that one, so this month I’ve decided to not only go over what I got but also create an everyday natural look using only products from these two month’s boxes.
This month’s box is all about looking glam in the autumn season which is definitely a bit of me! I received a Revlon lipstick which I chose the colour for last month, a MUA eyeshadow palette in lovely smoky tones, body lotion, prime and fake lashes- everything necessary for a party look really!
I’m really pleased with how this look turned out; even though I don’t usually wear lipstick I think it’s a very nice dark colour which compliments plenty of fall outfits and is perfect for all of the tones in the eyeshadow palette- lovely browns and dark pinks which I love using!
These are the products from October’s Glossybox that I also used for my look; So Susan highlighting crayon, Jelly Pong Pong mascara, Lanolips lip balm and Talik hydrating cream. You can find all the information about these products here on the Glossybox website– they archive their previous boxes which I think is so helpful!
So first of all for my look, I applied a thin layer of the Talik cream as I’ve been at uni all day and travelling on trains so my face has probably been exposed to quite a lot of drying pollution. Then, I used the Emite ‘Diamond Heart Primer’ which is a really lightweight formula in a peach tone which blends perfectly into your skin. It made me look much more alive after a long day! You can purchase this product from the Emite website for £25.90 for the full size.
I didn’t use the Royal Apothic ‘Cream Crème’ because I didn’t want to make my face too oily, so instead used this product on my hands after cleaning the makeup off of them to add some hydration. It has the most beautiful floral scent and can be found at the Royal Apothic website in a variety of scents for just £14.50. You rub it into damp skin after showering and it seals in all of the moisture to keep you fresh and hydrated, lovely!
Next I applied the So Susan ‘Haute Light Highlighting Pencil’ to the centre of my nose, cheekbones and also under my eyes to give myself a bit of a lift in these areas. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that the consistency of it is really like a wax crayon and it seemed to dry out my skin when I applied it which was annoying. You can find it at SoSusan.com for £15.00.
Next is the product that I’m most excited about out of the box; the MUA eyeshadow palette. It comes in 12 natural brown and pink shades for a gorgeous daytime look which is what I’m all about; nudes and metallics! The eyeshadows are very pigmented and easy to apply, build and blend. I used Fawn as a base shade, then used a mixture of Puff and Rose Ash in my inner corners, then Gild in the middle and finally Henna and Burnished Brown on the outer corners with Bronze Ore patted over the top once I’d blended it all to give a subtle little shimmer of gold. You can get this palette from the Mua store, where they have a range of different palettes; this one is called 12 Shade Undressed and is £4!!!!!
Before going to my lips I dabbed a small amount of the Lanolips moisturising cream balm onto them to hydrate and replenish after my day being out of the house.
I then used the Revlon ‘Super Lustrous Lipstick’ which I have in the shade ‘Black Cherry’. It’s very smooth and easy to apply, with avocado oil which moisturises your lips as you put it on. I prefer my lipsticks to be a bit ‘drier’ and found this a little too haphazard but I do love the colour so I’ll probably have to find a matte solution to put over it.
Finally I used the So Susan pencil again to highlight my cupid’s bow, and there we have it! I didn’t use the fake lashes as I wouldn’t use these for an everyday look; and to be honest I never manage to apply them properly and they end up falling off and just looking like spiders on my face. Gross!
And there we have it!
I’m really happy with how this look turned out and enjoyed experimenting with the products; these past two months have been full of products that I would definitely look into buying once I run out! The December Glossybox looks absolutely stunning- rose gold and polkadots?! I almost don’t care what’s inside it and just want to keep the box as room decor!! You can take a ‘Sneak Peak’ of it here and if you’re stuck on what to get someone for Christmas, why not sign them up for a Glossybox subscription? Such a lovely gift; I know I love my ELLE subscription that I still get 2 years after receiving it for my birthday!
Have a lovely week and I’ll see you on Saturday with a gorgeous recipe that makes a perfect dessert/treat for this cold weather!
