NYX Haul | Blogtober

I am definitely not a stranger to online shopping as a way of combatting stress, and as you know by now my Spanish university is really giving me reasons to be stressed- therefore, I shop. I have had a few things delivered back home and it’s so nice going back to parcels, like my birthday or Christmas has come early!

A few months ago I bought an NYX soft matte lip cream as well as matching lip liner and fell in love with the brand; I love the cheap cost compared to the amazing quality of the products plus the range of shades- you can see my review of the lip cream here. Unfortunately I lost these products about a week after buying them as I left them in a taxi, so it was a given that my first makeup haul would be NYX as I wanted to replace my precious products!

The first thing that caught my eye were the Liquid Suede cream lipsticks, as I’ve seen these on Instagram. They’re twice as big as the soft matte cream (and more expensive), although the actual product is only 4ml which is half the amount. Another thing to note is that this product lasts 3x less than the soft matte cream because of the different composition, so I’d recommend buying a shade you will wear to death to make it worth the money! I got “Cherry Skies” for £6.50 and to match I bought the glide on lip pencil in the shade “Dark Soul” (£5.50) which is another deep burgundy colour, sooo perfect for autumn/winter!

Of course, I replaced my “Stockholm” soft matte lip cream which cost £5.50 and as you can see in the blog post I linked, it’s a lovely coral nude which is slightly more suited to spring but also can be the perfect understated daytime nude. I didn’t buy another lip pencil as this colour matches perfectly to MAC “Subculture”, however the lip pencil I bought last time to compliment Stockholm was “Nude Suede Shoes” for £5.50. By the way- the soft matte lip creams smell absolutely incredible, like peaches and cream sweets!

Next for eye products, I wanted an eyeshadow base as I find that some less-pigmented eyeshadows can fade during the day and look pretty gross. I found this base in the shade “White Pearl” for £5.50 which will really make my eyeshadows pop. They had a few other colours in pinker or more golden tones on the website which also looked really pretty. I also bought the number 13 eyeshadow brush as the rest of mine are old and balding by now!

I’ve asked for the Naked 3 palette for Christmas as I love the pink tones in this palette, but I also wear a lot of brown eyeshadows to compliment my eye colour. I love the shades in the NYX “Golden Horizons” Dream Catcher palette, all golds, pinks and browns which are my favourites! This was the most expensive item in my haul at £13.00 but as I wear eyeshadow every day without fail, it was a good investment!

Lastly, I’ve recently had my eyebrows shaped at the Benefit Brow Bar in Sephora so I’m really into brow products at the moment. I’m quite a novice still, and despite owning the Benefit Gimme Brow gel and Goof Proof brow pencil, I wanted to try out one of the NYX Sculpt and Highlight pencils. I got the shade “Ash Brown” which is a medium brown tone, as this can be built up to achieve a darker look but I don’t want to start off with a shade that’s too severe and dark! This was £8.00 and I love the fact it comes with the pink highlight end to really make your eyebrows look on point! (pardon the awful pun…)

I’m so happy with all of my purchases and can’t wait to test out a full face of makeup using all of these products; I might do an autumn look using the eyeshadow palette and the liquid suede products soon! In terms of ordering and shipping, I always use Selfridges for makeup that doesn’t have a UK store such as NYX, as I can pick it up in store or have it delivered to my house. Selfridges charge £5 for standard shipping and delivery but are very good with ensuring the products arrive in good condition- the pack the boxes out with lots of beautiful yellow tissue paper to protect your goods and the delivery takes 3-5 days which is really quick!

I’ll be back with another NYX haul when I come back to the UK again as I’m sure I’ll be in Selfridges looking for more of these amazing liquid lipsticks in different shades… I’m a hoarder, there’s no doubt about it!!

Lots of Love,
Daisy xxx
