A Letter to My Current Self | Blogtober

Hello Lovelies,

This blog post is the second one in the 3 part ‘A Letter to My _ Self’ series that I’m doing for Blogtober. It’s difficult to remain impartial when writing to yourself, you need to really dig deep and be completely honest about what is going on in your life; something that I often struggle with. It’s important to be able to evaluate personal situations in a way that is healthy and allows you to progress as a stronger person, and this is something that I’ve been trying to do lately to make sure that I’m getting the most out of my life.

So, without further adieu, here it is…

Dear Daisy,

Here we are again, writing another heartfelt letter. You have to admit, writing is something you can definitely say you’re good at; that novel is still inside you and will come out one day, just give it time!

I think first of all congratulations are in order- you’re halfway through a university course you never thought you’d complete, are (mostly) managing your anxiety and finally getting somewhere with social media. I mean, it’s pretty much all figured out, right?

It’s really important that you’re staying focused on your goals- you know what you want to do with your life now and you can’t let anyone else change your mind or sway you. This is your only life, so as we spoke about in the previous letter, just live it! I know it’s really hard to not be supported by those close to you, but eventually they will come to understand that you know what you’re trying to do with your life and will hopefully be more supportive and positive with the whole thing.

Stop worrying so much about what other people are saying about your life goals, you know what you want and that these things will make you truly happy! You can do this if you just throw yourself into it head on; you learnt that from moving to London against the advice of your family and look what an amazing time you had! This is the time in your life where it’s all getting going so you need to make sure you stay focused and remain calm, just stick to your schedule and keep plugging away every single day to get your name out there.

Keep going, don’t give up, and it’s all going to pay off in the end- I’m sure of it.

Lots of Love,
Daisy xxx

Inspiring. Why didn’t I ever think to write to myself?
