It’s just 2 weeks until my 22nd birthday and I cannot wait. I wasn’t that fussed when I turned 18 or 21, I mean yes they’re big landmarks for everyone and it was exciting to be able to go clubbing and all of that business, but I am looking forward to being 22 more. I don’t know, there’s something about ’22’ that really grabs me. I love the idea of being in my 20s, but getting closer to ‘mid twenties’ where I can stop pretending that I love drinking spirits and spending too much money on a night out, and instead revel in the fact that one of my favourite pastimes is spending hours cooking amazing dinners, would rather save my clubbing money and spend it on clothes I’ll probably never wear, and actually love relaxing nights in with red wine over going out on vodkas.
In the spirit of my birthday celebrations (which I usually stretch out from bonfire night to the 11th of November) I thought it would be fun to create a little wish list of 5 things as one of my last Blogtober posts. This is either stuff I’ve asked for from family or things that I’m lusting after but definitely don’t expect to receive- although it wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen!
I’ve used other peoples’ palettes but have never owned any of my own, so when my mother in law asked what I’d like for my birthday I knew that this would be so ideal to put on my birthday list! I love Naked3 because I wear a lot of pink and gold tones on my eyelids as this looks so pretty yet still quite subtle and natural which is generally the kind of look I tend to go for. I also really like the look of Naked2 which is a more neutral and brown toned palette and again these are the kind of shades that I usually go for to compliment my colouring, so this could be a winner for me!
Zoeva Rose Gold Vol 2 Brushes
I know that Zoeva brushes are notoriously expensive but LOOK at these! They’re pink with rose gold hardware detailing and… well they’re just beautiful, what else can I say? I think the Vol 2 set is perfect for covering the basics when it comes to brushes and these 8 lovely brushes come in a rose gold clutch. What’s not to love?!
Beats Solo3 Wireless Rose Gold Headphones
These are definitely the most expensive gift I have ever asked for, but I thought I would try my luck anyway and see what happens! I have asked my Dad for these Beats rose gold wireless headphones for a joint birthday and Christmas present because I have been lusting after them for absolutely ages! I love my noise cancelling headphones but hate getting tangled up in the wires when I’m trying to run (on the very rare occasion that I do exercise) and they don’t look particularly stylish, whereas these bad boys are so pretty!
Too Faced Candlelight Rosy Glow Highlighter
Are there many brands with prettier packaging than Too Faced?? I doubt it, to be honest. I was completely obsessed with my E.L.F highlighter in Persimmon until I lost it, and I’ve never had the heart to find a replacement. I decided to try out a powder highlighter instead of a stick applicator and found this Too Faced duo compact in a rosy glow complimenting set. Despite it being a little pricey, I’ve heard really good reviews about Too Faced as a brand (I’ve yet to try any of their products) and I mean look at this packaging! So gorgeous.
Charbonnel & Walker Marc de Champagne Truffles
Charbonnel et Walker are my absolute favourite brand of truffles. The packaging is so beautiful especially the pink Marc de Champagne ones- I feel a recurring theme in this whole birthday wishlist actually, it’s all pink! Oops!! Depending on the size, you can get heart-shaped boxes, round ones, all with the gorgeous gold embossing on and the truffles themselves are so yummy! Fingers crossed I get some of these because they’re too delicious to miss out on!
I never really ask for loads of stuff for my birthday, I’m just happy with a beautiful cake and seeing my friends and family. I am so excited to turn 22 as I know I’ll be spending the day with my boyfriend- it can’t be any worse than my 21st birthday which was spent on the train up to Swansea as he had an emergency meeting at his university and we had to leave my London flat, then the fact that I’d forgotten my pill meant that I had to spend a further 2 hours in the walk in surgery at the hospital to get some more… at least the steak dinner was nice at the end of it all! Still, it’s a story I can tell people if nothing else!
Lots of Love,
