A few weekends ago I was invited to my first blogging event up in London, which was so exciting although pretty nerve-wracking as I went alone and my anxiety was going through the roof! However, since I’m taking this time out to work on my mental health and work my confidence back up, I thought it would be a pretty cool opportunity to kick anxiety’s butt and also meet some other bloggers at the same time.
The event was in Soho and co-hosted by the Bloggers Hub and Bloggers Who Brunch; groups created to allow smaller bloggers to network and create a community of supportive friends, while also connecting them to brands to gain sponsorship and work opportunities that currently go to the same, more established blogs again and again.
I loved the whole concept of the meet up and looooooooved the apartment that it was set up in- a big creative space with interior decor goals to the max. We had pink prosecco, cupcakes by Lola’s Cupcakes (which as you can see I had about 4 of) and chatted about blogging and our goals for our social media which I thought was so nice. It’s hilarious to see a room full of 50 bloggers all taking 1000+ photos of a table of cupcakes, no one daring to even think about touching them until we’re sure that everyone has their shots of the goods first!
I met so many supportive and lovely ladies who have inspired me to stick at blogging, as it’s really going somewhere right now and I have the opportunity to make something of this. I can’t wait to go to more events with the Bloggers Hub and Bloggers Who Brunch in the future and am so grateful to be a part of such a supportive community. Everyone was super friendly and really put my anxious mind at ease, which has given me the motivation to do more stuff out of my comfort zone like this!
Lots of Love,
