“Long Distance Bestfriendship”

Tomorrow is my first ‘friendaversary’ with my best friend Bianca. This is a weird thing to celebrate I know, but we have become so close in just a year that it’s hard to believe it’s only this time last year that we met for the first time!

Having a long distance best friend is very difficult, it’s almost the same feeling as my long distance relationship with my boyfriend really, but harder in some ways. The time difference makes maintaining in-depth conversations difficult, plus the fact that we haven’t seen each other in person since May- FaceTime only does so much, you know?

However, I wouldn’t change a thing. I have learnt so much from this friendship; I had the best year at uni which is largely down to meeting Bianca. We formed such a strong bond and I learnt so much from her about myself; for that I will be forever grateful. I truly feel like I have found a friend for life, and I know that long distance friendships are possible over long periods of time as my mum’s best friend lives in Australia and when they see each other it’s like they’ve never been apart- they sit drinking wine and nattering and giggling like school girls.

I can’t believe I have had this amazing young woman in my life for a whole year, I am so lucky! I can’t wait for us to get together next December when I fly to New York- maybe even sooner if our plans and finances permit! In the meantime, I’m so proud of everything we are achieving separately and love how supportive and happy we are for each other.

Lots of Love,
Daisy xxx
