If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you’ll remember that I did a post in the summer about OhRos candles; ethically sourced soy candles handmade in Hackney by a lovely lady called Georgia. I was so kindly given their Eucalyptus & Lavender candle at a craft market and have been burning it every evening when I’ve been stressed out. The amazing scent is so calming and they are so powerful that it fills the room with warmth and comforting smells.
OhRos have released their Christmas range now; 4 delicious scents that really embody the festive season. Gingerbread, Cinnamon and Orange, Figgy Pudding and By The Fire. It was so hard to choose two of these amazing scents but I finally managed to narrow it down…
As I mentioned in my previous post about the brand, each candle burns for approximately 25 hours and if you recycle the jar you receive 10% off your next order which I love because it’s environmentally friendly as well as economically friendly! Plus look at the adorable packaging that they come bubble wrapped in; it’s like receiving Christmas presents!
The first candle I picked in the 2 for £20 discount deal was “By The Fire” which is quite a musky and spicy scent; it almost reminds me of baby powder… I’m rubbish at describing scents as you can tell! This is such a soothing scent that will definitely be really relaxing on a cold winter’s night, tucked up with a book and a blanket- very Hygge!
The other candle I purchased is called “Figgy Pudding” and the likeness is absolutely incredible! This candle smells so sweet, like a real dessert, and is my favourite out of the two that I bought. I’m not sure how the insanely talented Georgia gets the candles’ scent so true to their name but it’s really uncanny. You’ll definitely see this in my Instagram layouts for the next few weeks!
I love the attention to detail that go into these handmade candles, each so carefully crafted. They’re so professional looking in their amber glass jars and it feels so good to know that you’re buying local as well as purchasing a candle that is ethically produced and vegan friendly as they’re made with soy- which is better for your health than paraffin as it gives a much cleaner burn.
Check out the OHRØS website for more information about workshops and how these candles are made as well as their current Christmas range: http://www.ohros.com/. I’m so pleased for this company and how well they’re doing, you can really see where all of the hard work is going and I will definitely be ordering more when new scents come out!
Lots of Love,
