Welcome to 2017

So here it is, a new year- 2017. While everyone seems to be really relieved that the hell hole that was 2016 is now finally over, I’m taking a more relaxed approach to the whole thing. Sure, 2016 had its ups and downs (okay a lot of downs), but I also learnt so much from it as you’ll see in my “2016 Achievements” post that I wrote during Blogmas. So many positive things happened for me last year and that’s what I’m choosing to take into the New Year with me- the hope that this year can only get better in terms of achieving more amazing things. As with every year, I’ve made a list of achievements I want to carry out rather than ‘resolutions’, as I feel like there’s a bigger sense of pride and accomplishment when I manage to pull one of these off if it’s an achievement.

I have let my anxiety dictate how I live my life for so many years that I’ve lost sight of who I am and what I can do on my own. Instead I’ve grown to rely on others and be so much less independent, and that’s not who I am at all. I want to take more trips on my own to enable me to build up my own confidence again and grow back into the strong character I used to be a few years ago. I want to start with little weekend trips around Europe and then gradually progress to further afield. My ultimate goal with this is to become more comfortable with being on my own as well as gaining lots of amazing content for my blog, while creating lifelong memories along the way.

This might seem like a weird New Year’s resolution to make, but I very rarely take photos that aren’t just for some type of social media. I want to start taking more photos to have printed into photo albums, ones that I can look back on in a physical form and reminisce over good times without having to share in on a screen with a few other thousand people. I also want to take more selfies which will help grow my confidence up, and take more pride in my appearance. I’m using a ‘selfie-a-day’ to see how much I change over this year which will be so interesting- hopefully in a good way!!

I think it’s pretty clear when you look at my social media that I miss London so badly. You can really tell the difference in how happy I am in my blog posts and weekly YouTube videos; London is my home. I am working on moving back there as soon as possible (ie the next month or so) and hopefully securing an internship at a magazine or PR agency that will help with my blogging career.

This is my final goal that I’ve set myself for the New Year and it’s probably the most important to me. Blogging is my absolute passion and towards the end of 2016 I really put my heart and soul into my blog to try and boost myself as much as possible for the New Year. Now that 2017 has arrived, I’m ready to take things to the next step. I’ve created a new blogging schedule where I am posting on here 4 times per week as well as making videos for my YouTube channel twice a week. I want to throw myself into this endeavour because I know that this time next year it will really make a world of a difference. My goals for my social media by the end of the year are;

TWITTER – 1000
YOUTUBE – 1000

These goals might not seem astronomically high but I think they’re consistent numbers that will be achievable, therefore anything over that will definitely be a massive bonus.

I want to continue creating amazing content for you guys and to be overall happier and more confident with myself. I am done with pretending that this is some hobby; it’s the biggest passion I have in my life and I should embrace it rather than get embarrassed by anyone else’s opinion of it. 2017 is the year of achievements for me, I am going to make sure of it!!

Lots of Love,
Daisy xxx

I hope you find something suitable for yourself in London, that would be so lovely to do! I really need to take more photos too, especially to document little bubas life once he decides to make his appearance! x

    My 2017 goal is to start blogging more as I made my blog last year but barely did anything. It didn’t help that I was only using my phone to do it so I got myself a laptop the other day to make things easier! I didn’t realise you had YouTube! What is your account so I can subscribe? :-)xx

      Yeah having it on a laptop or computer screen is definitely helpful, I think it makes me more productive than trying to type out a post on my phone. And my YouTube name is just Daisy Ashcroft xx
