Last week I took a trip to Center Parcs Elveden Forest with my boyfriend’s family. Having never been to a Center Parcs resort before, or really any kind of outdoor activity holiday, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I ended up having a really amazing time and would definitely love to go again!
We hired a lodge in the forest which came complete with a wood burner and a sauna in the little garden. It was so magical being out in the middle of the forest, listening to all of the wildlife- most of which came into our garden for food! We also had Muntjac deers outside our bedroom window; tiny little pygmy deers that spring about and nibble grass while squeaking. They were absolutely adorable!
I loved being surrounded by nature despite the grim weather. Even when it rained (very heavily I might add), the sound of the raindrops on the wooden roof of our lodge was so therapeutic as we sat by the warm fire and played cards or watched films on the televisions in each room- I felt so fancy!
We hired bikes for the duration of our 4 day stay for just £30 each which was undoubtably the best way to get around the whole park, which is strategically set in a circle so getting lost is pretty impossible. It was a lovely way to take in the picturesque views of the forest and get around from our lodge to the Village Square where the water park and restaurants were. I am now a huge fan of the Rapids in the water park, although the Cyclone was bloody terrifying so I might give that a miss next time!
Until then: it’s onto the next adventure!
