Rose Lattes at AIDA Shoreditch

Is it possible to fall in love with the aesthetics of your drink? Trust me, the answer is yes. AIDA is a trendy clothing store on the heart of Shoreditch High Street with a cafe situated right at the front of the shop; the perfect spot to do some work while watching the world go by through the floor to ceiling windows that make up the shop’s exterior.

I’ll be honest, the only reason I sourced out this coffee shop in the first place was that I saw the lurid pink rose lattes all over the ‘Gram and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Having lived right near Shoreditch in my second year of uni, I felt so nostalgic walking through the high street and seeing all of the trendy bars and cafes- I need to be back there, I miss it so!

Alongside classic coffees, AIDA also offer their ‘speciality’  Wonder Lattes- Sunshine, Fresh Chai, Matcha and Rose. Even though I’m not a huge fan of rose flavouring, I chose the rose latte because of the gorgeous colour. It came expertly feathered, with some beautiful dried rose petals which to be honest looked (and tasted when accidentally swallowed) like potpourri. After taking all of my photos for the blog, social media etc, the coffee was actually cold which was a huge shame because it really enhanced the perfume flavour of the drink- completely my own fault of course but still not very appealing.

The shop itself is beautiful; exposed brick walls, whitewashed wooden floorboards, huge mirrors which make the already spacious venue look even bigger. It would have been a dreamy place to buy Spring/Summer pieces if I’d had the money. I especially loved the ceramic decorative alphabet letters- so many Anthropologie vibes!

All in all, I would definitely go back to AIDA for a spot of shopping or to hang out with a girlfriend and watch the summer day unfold through the huge window. I wouldn’t order the rose latte again because the taste really wasn’t appealing to me; I only drank all of it because I’d spent £3 on the cup. I’d love to try one of the other speciality drinks or just go with what I know- a good old safe soy latte!

I cannot even imagine what a rose latte tastes like but given that it looks so beautiful I doubt I’d care! Ha. Fab images. We will have to all meet here sometime when we have our next bloggers meet up so that I can try one for myself 😀
