Welcome back to my blog. It feels weird sitting down to write a post after almost 3 weeks of having no inspiration, time or motivation. I’m finally ready to put my efforts back into my blog as I love creating posts, even if they’re only for a handful of people to read.
Over the Easter weekend, my boyfriend and I travelled up to Lincolnshire to visit my grandma who lives in a little village just outside of Skegness. It was a weekend of roast dinners, country pubs, board games and rambling walks around the fields and farms.
As we do every time we visit my grandma, Tom and I went into the seaside town of Skegness for a day of arcades, fish & chips and a frankly terrifying roller coaster- I’m a huge wimp and hate heights, so it’s no wonder I burst into tears… However as the weather was so beautiful it gave me the perfect opportunity to get some lovely blog photos!
Despite the hoards of tourists during the busy holiday periods, Skegness is such a fun seaside town to get away to. Yes, I live in one myself (Southend) so you could say it’s just the same, why should I love it so much? Maybe the nostalgia of visiting my grandma every year as a child for weeks at a time in the summer, riding on the donkeys, eating ice creams or finding pretty shells with my grandma and her friends. It might seem tacky especially from tv coverage, but then again there’s bad aspects about every town. My grandma is so important to me, so I know that the place I associate with her is one I’ll hold in my heart forever.
Although nothing can beat a sleepy village with plenty of bingo clubs and craft classes to occupy your mind!
Until next time,
